October 5, 2005 - The Netherlands - Australia:

Nexus Database Systems and Upscene Productions agreed to extend the
Database Workbench database developer IDE to support NexusDB v3 and
deliver it with new sold copies of "NexusDB v3 Developer Edition".
"Database Workbench Lite, NexusDB Edition" will be the primary SQL
based developer tool for NexusDB developers.

In addition to creating a Lite version, Upscene Productions will be
fully supporting NexusDB in Database Workbench Pro, the fully featured
edition of Database Workbench. "Lite" users will be able to upgrade
their version of Database Workbench to the Pro edition, including other
database engine supporting modules.

"We are proud and excited to give NexusDB developers a new powerful
development environment. Since the release of our NDB LogManager
auditing tool, people have been asking if we would support NexusDB in
Database Workbench, and here it is, for all to use.", says Martijn
Tonies, founder of Upscene Productions.

"NexusDB is very happy to provide its customers with a top class SQL
based database management tool. With NDB LogManager, Upscene has proven
that they are the perfect partner for us and we expect the upcoming
release of the Database Workbench to add even more value to NexusDB.",
says Hannes Danzl, Sales & Marketing director of Nexus Database
Systems.

About "Database Workbench"
Started as a development IDE for InterBase, Database Workbench has come
a long way since it's initial release. It now supports Firebird, MySQL,
Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and, last but not least, NexusDB.
Database Workbench is a powerful development environment that includes
tools for editting and creating database objects, migration of legacy
schemas, data transfer tools, test data generator tools, metadata
printing, schema compare tools and much more.

About Nexus Database Systems Pty Ltd
Nexus Database Systems develops, markets and sells the well known DBMS
NexusDB as well as a range of other, related, products for Delphi,
C-Builder, Chrome and other .Net languages. NexusDB features SQL2003
core compliance and many vendor extensions to the SQL Standard making
it a first class Relational DBMS. Nexus Database Systems continues to
invest heavily in R&D to ensure the NexusDB RDBMS engine gains even more
strength and wider popularity in the business computing market-place.

About Upscene Productions
Since four years, Upscene Productions is selling it's database tool
(Database Workbench) to the public - and with great success. The
success of the tool spawned other products and over a year ago,
Thomas Steinmaurer joined the company including his product line

Mind you - we're still trying to get "Database Workbench Pro for NexusDB v2"
ready. The agreement is about a special version of Database Workbench
for NexusDB v3 developers :-)

Out of the bag too early????

Nexus isn't finished with v2 yet. The enterprise version hasn't even been
released yet. Now v3 news is surfacing?

Obviously, v3 isn't ready yet -- but we agreed on the above and deemed
it useful to release this to public.

v2 is being developed, so no worries about that.

I hope, that in the coming months, we'll be able to release
Database Workbench Pro including a NexusDB (for v2)
module as well.

I figured so. After posting, my next group read was the Nexus groups and I
saw an identical announcement from Hannes there.

What is wrong with letting people know that we're working together to provide
customers with things they were askign for? I know MS is a different league,
but e.g. they don't even have C# V2 out and are already showcasing V3
features. On one hand people here around constantly complain about Borland and
other companies not letting them know about their future plans, and then when
someone tells them, they feel it's a bit early. Well, one obviously can't do
it right for everyone. Sorry but that I had to rant about this.

Nothing. Nothing at all ! Just found it strange to hear about the next
version from a 3rd party and not Nexus themselves. After posting I saw
your post the Nexus groups and figured the post wasn't a missprint of
version number or releasing information prematurely.

on the vendors site.

Perfectly understandable. Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers.

Love your product. Keep up the good work.
