We are glad to announce that the DINO (Gecko-Delphi Framework) version 1.1
has been released. It's designed for development of cross-platform
applications. This library enables to create easily applications of any
level of difficulty in Windows and Linux.
The idea consists in using XML to describe the user's interface and this
procedure increases the speed
with which applications are developed several times as compared to classical
methods.
The library is based on the most powerful engine GRE (Gecko Runtime
Environment) produced by the company Mozilla Foundation.

Feature Benefit:

- 100% crossplatform development. One code for Windows and Linux.
- Fast and Easy. GUI interface based on XML.
- Built in JavaScript engine.
- Custom component development. Free from difficult paint functions, only
XUL, XBL, CSS and possible HTML.
- Native component development. You can develop the native widget using
ActiveX for Windows and Netscape plugins for Windows and Linux which can be
integrated into XUL forms.
- XPIDL2PAS compiler.
- Custom protocol development. You can develop the protocol based data
providers. The Gecko-Delphi Framework includes Pascal classes to make it
easy.
- Multi-thread application development. Support of TThred Delphi class.
- Support of a large number of multimedia technologys known as Flash,
Acrobat, RealPlayer, SVG and others.
- Support of the built in internet browser Mozilla for displaying HTML
contents.
- Support of HTML Editor, Text Editor which can be used for your
application.
- Integrated help system HelpExplorer - now it supports the WinHelp,
MS-HTML Help v1.x (.CHM) and MS-Help2 (.HxS) file format for Windows and
Linux.

This library enables to create *easily* applications of
*any level of difficulty* in Windows and Linux.
<my emphasis, KGS>

This sounds very attractive! :-)
How will it make my difficult Windows programming tasks easier than if I
just use Delphi?

Huh? How can typing XML be faster than a drag-and-drop visual Form designer?

The demos on the site will not run on D6 - were the dcu's compiled under D7?

I don't believe this is the interpretation the author intended. I believe
the author intended to say two things: 1) This library is easy to use; 2)
This library can be used to create simple or complex applications in Windows
and Linux.

Perhaps English isn't the author's native language.
